Correntina is a Brazilian municipality in the state of Bahia with a population of around 30,000. Located in the west of Bahia, it is 914 kilometres from Salvador and 527 kilometres from Brasília.

Correntina is bathed by the Correntina, Arrojado, Santo Antônio, Guará and Rio do Meio rivers, all of which have crystal clear waters, The main one is the Correntina River, which cuts through the city centre and is home to the Ranchão Island, a much-visited postcard throughout the year, especially during the Carnival.
