The Catabrigas waterfall is a rare natural jewel, surrounded by lush greenery, mountains, birds and ecological trails. It is located on the outskirts of the Ibirajá district, in the interior of the Itanhém municipality, in the extreme south of Bahia.

As well as being a meeting place for locals, especially at weekends, the place also attracts visitors from various cities.

THE LOCATION
- Cachoeira dos Catabrigas is located less than 30 kilometres from Medeiros Neto, just 6 kilometres from the district of Ibirajá, in the municipality of Itanhém.
- Itanhém, on the border with the state of Minas Gerais, has a population of around 20,140 inhabitants (IBGE 2010), made up of the descendants of Indians, miners and black people. Recently it has also incorporated many Sertanejos.
