Casa Real Empório in São Luís do Maranhão

The Casa Real Empório, located in the Historic Centre of São Luís, is a pleasant place to meet friends, have a quick snack in the middle of the afternoon or take a break after walking around the city centre. Located on Rua Engenheiro Couto, 59, one of the intersections of Praça D. Pedro II, Casa Real Empório seems to serve this purpose well.

Surroundings

Located in a 19th century colonial mansion, Casa Real Emporio has a charming atmosphere, with decorations that recall the history of the state, with pictures, paintings of maps and old documents, many of which are for sale in the establishment. The room is small but cosy, with walls covered in hydraulic tiles. As well as tables, there is a bar where you can chat to the staff.

The Menu

The Casa’s menu offers a variety of sweets from Maranhão and Portugal. The shop also offers a drinks list that ranges from espresso coffee to quality wines. A special highlight are the sodas made on site.

One of the favourites is the Sicilian Lemon and Green Apple, made with carbonated water and an essence that gives the fruit its aroma and colour. Other options include Raspberry and Blackberry lemonades. Craft beers are also available to customers.

As well as food, the shop also sells handmade items, which can range from local handicrafts to kitchen utensils.
