This beautiful and important map of the northern part of South America is full of information and annotations speculating on the indigenous tribes and the tributaries of the Amazon. The captains are shown along the coast of Brazil. An annotation in Guyana records the mythical Lac de Parime, where the golden city of Manoa del Dorado was said to be located. The central part of the map, called Pays des Amazones, is full of indigenous names and annotations. The Grand chemin des Ingas (Inca Trail) is shown from Chuquisaca in Peru to Pasto in Colombia.
