The Fernando de Noronha archipelago is home to a variety of stunning beaches, each with its own unique characteristics.
Some beaches are ideal for diving, while others are better suited to swimming, relaxation and surfing.

The beaches of Fernando de Noronha
Geographical division: Inland Sea and Outer Sea.
The beaches of Fernando de Noronha are divided into two regions.
- Mar de Dentro: Facing Brazil, it has calmer waters between April and November, making it ideal for swimming and diving.
- Mar de Fora: Facing the Atlantic Ocean, with rougher seas that are ideal for surfing, especially between January and February.

The beaches of the Inner Sea
- Santo António Bay and Harbour: a natural anchorage that was used as a port for unloading ships. It is close to the important historical site of Santo Antônio Fort.
- Biboca Beach: Located below Fortaleza dos Remédios, it is made up of black volcanic rocks. Although it is not recommended for swimming, it is possible to walk along it at low tide.
- Praia do Cachorro: Located near Vila dos Remédios, it features a freshwater spring and a natural pool known as Buraco do Galego.
- Praia do Meio: A small beach located between Cachorro and Conceição. The water is calm at low tide and rough at high tide.
- Conceição Beach (Italcable): Located at the foot of Morro do Pico, this popular beach boasts a long stretch of sand and good surfing conditions at high tide.
- Boldró Beach: Located close to the old Teleguided Observation Post, it boasts waves ideal for surfing and offers stunning views of the Fort of São Pedro do Boldró.
- Praia do Americano: Small and deserted, this beach was previously reserved for military use. Today, it is popular with those seeking privacy.
- Praia do Bode: It is accessible via a stone path and has natural pools and a large rock that serves as a viewpoint.
- Quixabinha Beach: This small beach, located between Bode and Cacimba do Padre, is excellent for swimming at low tide.
- Cacimba do Padre Beach: One of the longest beaches, famous for Morro Dois Irmãos. It is excellent for surfing and diving.
- Baía dos Porcos: This small bay is surrounded by rocks and forms natural pools teeming with colourful fish. Morro Dois Irmãos provides a stunning backdrop.
- Sancho Bay: Considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, it boasts crystal-clear waters and rich marine life. It is accessed via a staircase between crevices in the rock.
- Baía dos Golfinhos (Enseada do Carreiro de Pedra): A mating and resting place for spinner dolphins. Access to the bay is prohibited, but the dolphins can be seen from the Dolphin Lookout.













Beaches on the open sea
- Praia do Leão: This beach is known for its large number of sea turtle nesting sites, especially those of the green turtle species. Access is restricted after 6 pm during the nesting season.
- Ponta das Caracas: An area with natural pools among the rocks. Currently, access is restricted due to the dangers of the descent.
- Sueste Bay: Thanks to its calm waters, it is one of the best places for snorkelling and observing sea turtles. It is also home to the only mangrove swamp on an oceanic island in the South Atlantic.
- Atalaia Beach: Access is controlled, with only 30 people allowed in at a time. At low tide, a large natural pool rich in marine life forms.
- Enseada da Caeira: A region of natural pools surrounded by dunes with controlled access.
- Raquel’s Hole: A contemplative area with shallow pools and colourful fish. Access is prohibited to protect the environment.
- Ponta da Air France: a historic site where the French settled in the 1920s. Although it is not a bathing area, it offers stunning views of where the Mar de Dentro meets the Mar de Fora.
