Croa do Goré Island is a small island that rises at low tide and disappears at high tide. It is famous for its calm waters, sand banks and the presence of gorés (small crustaceans that inhabit the area).

The island’s peculiar name comes from a well-known local resident: Crôa refers to the sandbank visible at low tide, while Goré is the small crab that hides underground.
