Caetanos de Cima is one of the most beautiful and most unknown beaches in Ceará, located in the municipality of Amontada.
This community works with community-based tourism, allowing visitors to enjoy an authentic and enriching experience.
It is located in the municipality of Amontada, 170 kilometres from Fortaleza, on the west coast, on the so-called Rota do Sol Poente. The journey from Fortaleza to Caetanos de Cima beach takes about two and a half hours by car.

The village is divided into Caetano de Baixo and Caetano de Cima. Only the village of Caetano de Cima, located on the seafront, offers attractions to visitors.
It promotes communal tourism and attracts people who stay in fishermen’s houses and integrate themselves into the cultural life of the region.
The municipality of Caetanos de Cima is home to 250 families who receive around 300 tourists throughout the year.
The beach is called Caetanos de Cima because, according to the locals, the first person to reach this paradise was a slave called Caetano dos Santos, who escaped and hid in the area.
