The city boasts one of the most beautiful coastlines in Brazil, featuring a variety of beaches – from urban and wild to trendy and peaceful.
Maceió is known for being clean, safe and accessible, and also serves as a starting point for trips along the Alagoas coast.
Protected by an extensive stretch of coral reefs, its beaches are renowned for their calm, crystal-clear waters, which have a fascinating colour.
Among the city’s beaches, the most popular and beautiful include Ponta Verde Beach (5 km from the city centre) and Jatiúca Beach (6 km from the city centre).

For those looking to relax, the best option is to head north of the city, where you’ll find the stunning Garça Torta beaches (14 km from the centre) and Pratagi (17 km from the centre).
For those who don’t wish to travel that far, there are natural wonders in Jacarecica (9 km from the centre) and Guaxuma (12 km from the centre).
All these beaches share not only the colour of the sea and the pleasant water temperature, but also the fine, white and soft sand.
