The  Cliff Route, located in Ceará, covers more than 200 kilometres of stunning beaches, with the sea on one side and sand walls on the other, offering visitors unforgettable experiences.

Famous for its landscapes, Canoa Quebrada Beach attracts tourists from all over the world with its white dunes and coloured sand cliffs. However, the east coast of Ceará hides other gems for sun and beach lovers.

Travelling along the Cliff Route, tourists can explore a wealth of landscapes, culture and attractions along the way. From Fortaleza it is possible to discover the main tourist attractions of the Ceará coast in an itinerary of up to eight days.

In addition to Fortaleza, the route of the Cliff Route includes the towns of Aquiraz, Cascavel, Beberibe, Aracati and Icapuí, close to the Rio Grande do Norte border..

The first stop, Aquiraz, is known for its historic centre and is home to the largest water park in Latin America, Beach Park, just 32.3 km from Fortaleza.

In Cascavel, the Handicraft Centre and Águas Belas Beach, washed by the Rio Mal Cozinhado, are highlights. At low tide, small, inviting sandy islands are formed.

The last stop

The journey ends in Icapuí, 200 kilometres from Fortaleza, known as the land of the lobster. The main excursions are to the beaches of Ponta Grossa, Redonda and Tremembé.

Along the Rota das Falésias you can enjoy buggy and raft rides, as well as panoramic tours. Some beaches offer opportunities for sports such as kite surfing.

At Canoa Quebrada, young people enjoy the fun of “esquibunda”.
